Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are your trim prices?
Barefoot Trim is $45.00 Any trim four weeks and under is discounted Any draft-type horse or a very over grown horse may be subject to a surcharge.
  • What trim schedule do you recommend?
I always recommend a trim schedule based on each individual horse’s needs and growth patterns. If we are looking to change or rehabilitate their hooves, we often need to trim at four weeks or less in cases like laminitis.
  • Do you charge a trip fee?
I reserve the right to charge a trip fee but generally do not up to a 45-min drive time for me.
  • What training do you have?
I am a certified hoof care professional through the Mackinaw Dells Whole Horse Learning Center. Additionally, I frequently participate clinics like David Landerville's On the Vertical clinic. Lastly, I have been mentoring with Natalie Zielinski since October 2023.
  • How much do you charge for your massage services?
Generally, I charge $60 for a full hour massage. However, please ask about my introductory discount! Additionally, I provide a $20 discount to my trim clients.
  • Do you provide discounts?
Available discounts are as follows: $20 off for trimming clients $20 off adopted rescue horses *Ask about my introductory rate!
  • What training do you have?
I am certified through the Therasage massage school, but have also completed the Midwest Natural Healing for Animals with Bev Brady. Additionally, I have participated in clinics with Deb Davies and had hands on training with Meg Eades. I've also shadowed with Nikki Butler!
  • What kind of massage do you provide?
I will provide a very well-rounded general massage, but also focus on the areas of concern. Along with the massage, we may look for patterns and causes of pain and potentially work on other stretches and movements that will increase flexibility and reduce strain. I follow the Balance Through Movement Method with Celeste Lazaris, and believe in the science of the thoracic sling influencing the rest of the body.
  • What kind of training do you provide?
I use positive reinforcement training (using food rewards) to change perceptions and feelings about the hardest management problems. Training the horse to hold their feet for any length of time is no easy task! It is a very vulnerable action for horses, and we want them to feel as comfortable as possible. Using food rewards give them an incentive to learn!
  • How much do you charge for training?
I charge about $50 an hour for training but most of my sessions are shorter than an hour, so often it's less than $50. It's best to do frequent sessions and practicing with your horse outside of training.
